It is undertaken to ensure the provision of, and access to, a common, up-to-date and maintained base of quality geospatial data for all of Canada. Through the GeoBase portal, users with an interest in the field of geomatics have access to quality geospatial information at no cost and with unrestricted use.
GTOPO30 was derived from several raster and vector sources of topographic information. For easier distribution, GTOPO30 has been divided into tiles which can be selected from the map shown above. An area can be selected by clicking on the image map, providing a center point, or by defining the center point using the GEOnet Names Server.
At the core of the program is a spectacular collection of digital images of Earth. The image collection and accompanying learning guides and activities are extraordinary resources to support classes in Earth science, space science, geography, social studies, mathematics, communications and even art. The GLCF is a center for land cover science with a focus on research using remotely sensed satellite data and products to assess land cover change for local to global systems.
This layer is the most current, near-global image of the earth available. The resolution is m per pixel in the middle of the swath, less on the edges. The cartographic data proposed here is in SDTS format. You will need a tool with which to manipulate and work with the data. Also links to finding data for problematic mountainous areas worldwide. The grid cells are spaced at regular intervals along south to north profiles that are ordered from west to east.
The U. New Zealand DEMs digital elevation model , raster and shaded relief. The files and datasets listed below may be freely downloaded and used with our compliments. The SRTM digital elevation data, produced by NASA originally, is a major breakthrough in digital mapping of the world, and provides a major advance in the accessibility of high quality elevation data for large portions of the tropics and other areas of the developing world.
The SRTM digital elevation data provided on this site has been processed to fill data voids, and to facilitate it's ease of use by a wide group of potential users. This data is provided in an effort to promote the use of geospatial science and applications for sustainable development and resource conservation in the developing world.
Digital elevation models DEM for the entire globe, covering all of the countries of the world, are available for download on this site. The SRTM 90m DEM's have a resolution of 90m at the equator, and are provided in mosaiced 5 deg x 5 deg tiles for easy download and use. All are produced from a seamless dataset to allow easy mosaicing. Data can be downloaded using a browser or accessed directly from the ftp site.
Datum is PSA56 for Ecuador. Elevation is in meters above see level. All files are zipped. Austrian DEM data. Danish DEM data. Mexican DEM data.
