Most likely it's made from what he had left of Onyxia and Nefarian's skin, I mean, it's not like a cloak takes two entire dragons worth of material. Or maybe dragons molt like snakes? Dragons have dandruff too. Socketed Earthwarden gives 10 more attack power for the loss of 1 agility. And also a nice minor speed run bonus. Comment by Dunno weather I did this for loremaster or just did it while leveling, but the eyepatch is long gone now. I hope the GMs aren't going to go too insane with all of us hunters and shammies wanting this old item restored now that Transmogrification is on it's way. I was doing dishes when the GM sent me a tell. He said he could not find it on my character.
So, I resubmitted the ticket and the next GM said there was a policy change enacted last week as to basically not help customers look for old gear. But, for that to happen the item has to exist in your data base. So for the first GM to say he could not find it, when I gave the proper spelling and description means either A.
He did not spend more then 5 seconds looking, or B. The second GM said they are working on a eye patch for every class, apparently this is a pretty popular thing, or he could have said that to get me off his back.
Either way, they are not doing much to get this back. I explained to him that I understood policy etc etc, but that this is the only mail eye piece in game and only obtainable from a quest chain.
His reply was his warrior cant have an eye patch as no plate version exists That is neither here nor there. The one thing I could always rely on int his game was GM's help, now a days even that seems to be on blizzards back burner. TLDR: No eye patch for hunters. Comment by Jornak If you play a hunter or a shaman and want to transmogrify your helmet to an eyepatch, this is the only one you can use for it 'cause it's mail. Comment by I have noticed after 'mogging this item on my hunter undead male , when he charges a shot cobra shot, steady shot etc he partially closes one eye and opens the other wide. This eyepatch seems to cover the "open" eye and leaves the eye which is meant to be "closed" to do the aiming. Comment by Thanks to atlas loot, knowing which boss' drop what and wowhead's "same model as" tab, I was able to find a lot of my favourite items to transmogrify in quests without the worry of having to run through dungeons multiple times trying to get the drops I wanted.

Doing this on a "Boosted Level 90 Character" so she has a clean slate and no quests have been done, no flight paths, nothing Get to Outland, don't matter how you do it, I used the portal in Orgrimmar to the blasted lands and then went through the gate, flew up to Netherstorm from Hellfire Peninsula and went to location Follow Drijya and protect him while he does his thing.
Mobs will come running out of the center gate.
