Available with a standard MBdatabase truncated to use only the executive overviews from eacharticle, or the full MB database if your card can handle it. Interface is very simple but it gets the job done, and lookup on an SDcard is pretty quick. Loaded on the SD card. MagicButton -Freeware by TranCreative. Excellent task manager that puts icons forall running programs on the title bar. It also fixes Microsoft's'minimize' behavior on the X button and allows some additionalcustomization of the title bar.
I think that it has compatibilityissues with some software, but haven't nailed that down yet. Although Ihave several task managers available, this one is my favorite. Simplytapping on icons on the title bar to swap apps can quickly becomeaddictive. Also has a nice battery monitor for the title bar. ItriedMagic Button, but it looks strange and needs to be updated for WM 6. However, it does function correctly.
Outstanding programmable, scientific, RPN calculatorpatterned after the classic Hewlett-Packardlines which I've used for decades. The screen is such that you canactually use it by 'pressing' theindividual keys. Creative Creek also makes a non-programmable version for lessmoney. Currently in beta for the PPC platform, it has a ways to go tocatch up with its Palm sibling, but I still love the format andimplementation. Excellent program for downloadingand reading news. It downloads whole articles, has an online catalog,and loads very quickly.
I use it every day. Retrieves monthly medical news. Offered for install with Skyscapeproducts. Excellent soft keyboard replacement forthe Pocket PC. The command button provides the most-used OS functions copy, cut,paste, command, shortcut, undo at your stylustip. Concentrated, well planned keyboard enables minimal hand movement,and tons of punctuation and symbols arereadily accessible. Works perfectly in portrait mode AND landscape. Exideas offers a generous day trial period on the PPC. This is oneof the first apps that I installed on my Axim!
Disabled for now. MetrO- Freeware by F. Slick program that provides directions to get from one location toanother using public transportation in a hostof the world's cities. Very nicely excuted interface, quick searching,good use of color, and accurate directionsmake it a snap to use.
Databases are updated regularly. Great programfor travelers. Very nice music player that also has analarm feature. The alarm let's you wake up to your favorite music. Great English dictionary, thesaurus, phraselist, and acronym reference. It sports a very attractive interface andis simple to use. The dictionary has concise,informative definitions, and the thesaurus is very helpful indiscerning the nuances between similar words. Asgood as these are, the real star of this collection may be the Englishphrase database.
Don't be fooled by thename--it explains a number of common latin phrases and formal names, aswell as colloquial expressions. Almostall other PDA dictionaries use a reduced version of Princeton'sWorldNetlexicon, which is really a sophisticated thesaurus-like psychologicallanguage learning project and makes a lessthan exemplary dictionary even in full PC form.

Mobile Systems' support proved very helpful,promptly answering questions and concerns beforeI registered. Installed on my SD card. Looks great in native VGA mode. Web pages on yourPPC look just like on your desktop, or you can wrap them to fit thescreen.
If you surf the web with your PPC, you should take a seriouslook at Netfront. Very nice collection of English idiomssearchable on key works in each idiom. Excellent reference if you wantto get it just right. Also available as partof an OxfordReference Suite. See my review here.

Works great, butnot all apps support true VGA. Itstores notes as a Windows Mobile database on your handheld, handlescategories beautifully, supports rich formatting, and is fullysupported by WebIS' Pocket Informant PhatNotes also has a niceToday plug-in that works great under PocketBreeze as a custom tab. Pretty slick setup. Nice add-in to the stock Pocket Internet Explorer thatadds things like multiple windows, landscape support, full screen mode,etc.
Super Today screen utility thatputs your calendar and tasks on the Today screen. Highly customizableand actively supports Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion. Newerversions support a custom tab, which is where I keep my weatherinformation, plus will display daily forecasts from PocketWeather 2.

More full-featured than MS Outlook itself,with which it is fully compatible. Great ease-of-use that belies theincredible power beneath. Manage your calendar, tasks, contacts, andnotes all in one app that supports seemingly endless customizability.
Also has a nice feature to force Windows to update all alarms for thosetime when Windows inevitably starts missing them.
The longer I usethis, the deeper I fall under its spell. Great implementation of the standard English dictionary. Includesetymology,pronunciation, deriviatives, usage, and even related concepts for somewords. Also available as part of an OxfordReferenceSuite. Unsupported program that provides some ofthe same expense-tracking capability as comes on Palm devices. Haven'tused it yet, but it will be nice for tracking expenses when traveling.
Outstanding astronomy tool andreference. Fast, realtime tracking, great reference data, can take yourlocation from a GPS, and highly configurable. Provides necessary datafor celestial navigation as well. Excellent implementation. PocketStreets Commercial from Microsoft. Nice port of the desktop map version toPPC. Doesn't provide directions, but does include a large collection offree databases for cities around the world.
Very usable in real-lifesituations. This helped me find some landmarks and the closest Metrostation in Washington, DC, during a visit there, as well as in Berlin. Will link to and track with a GPS if you have one.
With version 2. I'm running as a tab under PocketBreeze so that PocketBreeze can putthe daily forecasts from PocketWeather on the calendar. Very niceintegration. I still loaded this, but it may not stay onfor long. Nice WiFi utility to search out and connect to Another neat indicator for the top of the screenthat shows relative battery life and memory status. Battery and memorylines are different colors.
Very nice implementation. Looks andworks like Windows Explorer on the desktop, but includes strong fileencryption, ZIP file support, built-in viewer, network browser,registry editor, and now a Today screen plugin--all seamlesslyintegrated. Works great when hacked into VGA mode as well. Bestpurchased as part of the Resco Utility Package. Total Commander CE is free and doeseverything that Resco does.

It tracks time on the battery andsports a host of useful information in a tabbed format, accessed bytapping on the icons. Slick implementation. SafeMode 3- Shareware bymonocube. It does what it says--boots you into a safe mode just likeWindows so that you can disable or uninstall offending programs.
Thisis the way to get out of a soft reset loop. Nice shopping list application to help withthose important chores. Supports one-handed operation.
Tooktoo much space for what it did, and didn't work after updating myfirmware to A03 without reinstalling some components over new librariesin the update. First app that I installed on the iPAQ Outstandingcollection of maintenance utilities for your PPC.
Clean up orphaned registry entries, temp files, caches, thenotification queue, PPC databases, orphaned uninstall pieces, badshortcuts, duplicate appointments, contacts, tasks, etc. Also find out where all your RAM is being eaten up, keysystem information, manage Today plugins and input methods, findduplicate files and contacts and transpired alarms, manage runningprocess and Windows startup files, and manage aliases.
Also includes abackup program. This package does it all well and safely. If you have aPPC, you need this. It was the first PPC app that I registered. I neverleave home without it. Nice utility that takes snapshots of the entiresystem before and after installing new software or updates, andgenerates reports on what changed.
Although an all-manual operation,it's a big step in keeping trial software from garbaging up yourdevice. Excellent and very comprehensive dictionarywith a nice interface and resident mode.
