Below are the steps that can be followed to disable the Microsoft Windows XP welcome screen that appears each time the computer boots.

This forum, in particular jd, gave me the idea to replace the osk. To mess with files contained in system32, you have to make sure that you have the full control permission. To do that you open the folder properties for system32 and go to the security tab. Click advanced and go to the owner tab. The default owner is TrustedInstaller so you have to click edit and select your user account from the list and press ok.

You must be selected as the current owner in order to change your user account to have full control. Then you are back to the security tab of the folder properties where you can click edit and change permissions of your account to full control.

Now you are able to make a copy of cmd. This effectively opens command prompt whenever the on-screen keyboard is told to open.
